Sistas,
regardless of what you’re going through, all you have is right now.
Life can be difficult, but we must
learn to move within the context of our reality, and ask God
to open our eyes to the things we need to see. He is
all-powerful and all-knowing. He knew we would face the
situation we are presently battling before we saw it coming.
It is certainly within His power to prevent it. Why then,
has He allowed it?
Life happens.
For whatever reason, tribulations occur, and God will not
overstep His law and order to prevent them. It is we who
must step into
His plan. In so doing, we will catch a glimpse of the
treasure that He has placed within our hearts, minds, and
souls. Look at the following verses:
Romans 5:1-5 (NLT)
Therefore, since we have been made right in God's sight by
faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ
our Lord has done for us.
2 Because of our faith,
Christ has brought us into this place of highest privilege
where we now stand, and we confidently and joyfully look
forward to sharing God's glory.
3
We can rejoice, too, when we run into
problems and trials, for we know that they are good for
us-they help us learn to endure.
4 And endurance develops
strength of character in us, and character strengthens our
confident expectation of salvation.
5 And this expectation will
not disappoint us. For we know how dearly God loves us,
because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts
with his love.
As Romans 5:1-5 so beautifully outlines, Jesus
Christ has brought us to a place of highest privilege, and
it is there that we can confidently stand and “joyfully
look forward to sharing God’s glory.” This isn’t
something far, far away. It’s our right now reality. We
are God’s glory. WE MUST be anchored in “who” and “what” He
has made us in the midst of whatever damage the world has
thrown our way. That is the lesson of tribulations. For
our circumstances do not define us,
but how we stand amidst them is a defining moment in our
faith.
Although we may not feel it, we have everything we need to
move ourselves to deliverance through the power of the
indwelling Holy Spirit. Yes, it's very definitely
uncomfortable; yes, it takes time to move through the hurt
and pain of our experiences, but we have the tools to do it
with great success.
