Dear Heavenly Father,
Your Word tells us how much You love us and how much we mean to You. Even with all our flaws and sinful nature, You chose us to be Your very own. You tell us in John 3:16-17 The Message (MSG), “This is how much God loved the world: He gave his Son, his one and only Son. And this is why: so that no one need be destroyed; by believing in him, anyone can have a whole and lasting life. God didn’t go to all the trouble of sending his Son merely to point an accusing finger, telling the world how bad it was. He came to help, to put the world right again.” Heavenly Father, You have not only told us how much You love us, You demonstrated Your overwhelming love by sending Your Son to show us the Way to You, and to offer himself as a sin offering for us.
It took me some time to realize the power and authority I have as one of Your children. Your Word tells us in 1John 4:4 that the Spirit of Christ that You’ve placed within us is greater than the devil and evil spirits that are in this world. In Ephesians 1:19-20, You also tells us that You want us to understand the incredible greatness of Your power, because it’s this same power that raised our Lord from the dead and seated him at a place of honor on Your right hand. Through the Holy Spirit, You’ve given us access to this power and authority. It’s too wonderful for words!
It is very important for us as Your spiritual daughters to know how much You love us, because the loving sacrifice of Christ affirms our worth to You. I used to think my value could be validated by a human being. What a silly mistake it was to think that way. I remember feeling like I wasn’t enough if the guy I liked didn’t feel the same way. I know now that I wasn’t the first nor the last Christian woman who felt this way. I hear so many stories about women needing validation from a man. They are willing to compromise Godliness and do things You’ve told us not to do, all so they will be accepted by a man.
These beautiful sisters need to know that it is impossible for the world to validate us, because those in the world do not even recognize who we are. In 1Peter 2:9(NLT), You tell us, “But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light.” We all need to be anchored in the reality that You said we are enough because we’re Your chosen people; that’s all the validation we need.
There are some women that will stay with a man that mistreats them by manipulating or abusing them, or by cheating on them with another person. You’ve paid the ultimate price for our liberty, peace, and joy through Christ. I pray that You will help Your daughters to know that it isn’t Your Will for them to be treated badly. You want them to have the best. Please help Your spiritual daughters to realize that they can’t find self-worth by sacrificing their values to please another person. Some of us crave validation, and we think that satisfying the pleasures of the flesh is the way to get it. Please Dear Father, open their eyes to what they’re doing.
The pleasures of this world will never measure up to the pleasures of Heaven, and this is where we need to be focused. Jesus Christ taught us in Matthew 6:19-21 (NLT), “19 Don’t store up treasures here on earth, where moths eat them and rust destroys them, and where thieves break in and steal. 20 Store your treasures in heaven, where moths and rust cannot destroy, and thieves do not break in and steal. 21 Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be.” Father, through Christ You’re warning us not to waste time trying to find in some person or thing the kind of pleasure that only You can give. Nothing compares to the sacrifice of Christ, and it is through his sacrifice that we can know our value. Thank You, Merciful Father, for showing us what we mean to You through Christ. Please help us to grow strong and confident in Your Word, so that we become humbly secure in our own self-worth.
Thank You, Holy and Glorious Heavenly Father for helping us to be a blessing to Your Kingdom. Thank You for Your precious Son, Jesus Christ, and thank You for the powerful Holy Spirit that indwells us. In the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
