God’s Perfect Timing

Dear Heavenly Father,

In Psalm 56:1, the psalmist, King David, cried out to you and begged for your mercy. He said that people were hounding him, and his enemies were trying to attack him all day long. Many of us know how this feels. Life can seem like a perpetual stream of hiccups and mishaps. As soon as we address one thing on the left, the thing on the right seems to go wrong. On top of this, the people we thought we could count on are not there when we need them most. Some of us feel so alone in our troubles, Heavenly Father, but we must turn to You and You alone when we feel this way. You want us to have a more than abundant life through Your Son, Jesus Christ, and we must trust that You will give us the life we have always wanted.

Isaiah 40:31(NKJV) says, But those who wait on the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.” This verse lets us know that we must patiently wait on Your perfect timing for our blessings to come into fruition. Many people become anxious by the difficulties they experience, and they don’t want to wait on You. They think that everything should be on their timetable, and that You might let their blessings slip through the cracks. This comes from a mindset of fear, and You told us in 2Timothy 1:7 that You didn’t give us a spirit of fear; You gave us a spirit of power, love, and self-control.

Waiting on You will cause our strength to be renewed. We learn endurance and persistence while we wait because You are building the character of strength and courage as we stand faithfully in Your process. While we wait for the blessing to manifest, You are helping us to prepare spiritually so that we have the wisdom, love, and stewardship ability to maintain it.

Even though we know Your timing is perfect, discomfort causes us to get impatient sometimes. Some of us begin to complain that deliverance and victory is taking too long. We look at those that are evil who seem to prosper and have a good time, and it feels very unfair to us. Father, please help us to keep our eyes glued to You through Jesus Christ and not be focused on those that don’t know You. We need to have faith in what You’re doing in our lives and be excited about it. In Hebrews 11:6, You tell us that You are a Rewarder of those that diligently seek You. Your Word declares that You cannot fail, and You will not let us down. In Your impeccable timing, the blessings we desire will manifest if we continue to trust You and remain committed to Your Word.

Thank You for continuing to uplift and encourage us through Your Spirit and Your Word. We are committed to fight the good fight of faith, for the victory is ours through our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Thank You for our wonderful Master, Jesus Christ, and for the gift of the indwelling Holy Spirit. Please let Your Will be done on earth as it is in heaven. In the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
