Dear Heavenly Father,
You tell us in Isaiah 55:8-9(NLT), “8 My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts…And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine. 9 For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.” You also tell us in Revelation 1:8 that You are Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end; You are the One who is, who always was, and will always be. You are the Almighty One. You are awesome and amazing, and there is none like You. As we go about our daily lives, our thoughts are consumed with what to do from one minute to the next. We become anxious because we do not know the future, but You know everything. You see the big picture, and although things may look bleak or unfixable to our understanding, You hold our tomorrows. You work everything out according to Your Will.
We often say that You work in mysterious ways. Many of us have witnessed this as we’ve encountered situations that seemed impossible. We had no idea how the details would come together, but You made the impossible possible. You can change the very nature of a situation so that what the devil meant for bad, You totally turned it around for our good. Even those who have sought to cause us harm or said negative things about us in the past can make a complete 180-degree turn-around and change their tune. It’s all because of what You do in the background, without us even suspecting. This is why we must be patient with Your process, because You are always working things out for our good.
You tell us in Proverbs 3:5-6 that we should always trust You with all our hearts. This doesn’t mean a little piece here and a little piece there. We should thrust our whole being into trusting You, and never lean on our own understanding. We don’t see the things You see, and we can’t know Your thoughts or ways completely. In Your perfect timing, You will bring deliverance, change, and victory. This is why we should seek Your Will in all we do. Please help us, Heavenly Father, and direct us through Your Spirit as we read and study Your Word. You promise that if we seek Your counsel and leadership, You will show us which path to take.
You are so loyal to Your people, Father, and even though our conditions, situations, and circumstances are not as we would like, Your ways are mysterious and masterful; we can have confidence that You have already worked things out. Thank You for being a loving and faithful God, and for making us Your sons and daughters through our precious Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Thank You for giving us Your precious Holy Spirit as our teacher, comforter, advocate, and guide. Please let Your Will be done on earth as it is in heaven. In the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
