Dear Heavenly Father,
The pandemic has caused situations and issues that most of us never thought about, but we have a strong anchor in You through Your Son, Jesus Christ. You tell us in Philippians 4:6(NLT), “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.” This is not a suggestion. It is Your commandment. Worry means that we have doubt in our hearts, and doubt keeps our faith from producing wonderful results. So, we shouldn’t have any doubt. Instead, You tell us to trust in You with all our hearts. In times like these, we need to make doubly sure that our trust is firmly anchored in You.
You are all-powerful, all-knowing, everywhere present, and extremely loving. You demonstrated all this through Your Son, Jesus Christ. Because of him, we can pray and know that You hear our prayers. Your heart is that all sickness and disease is healed, and You want every sadness taken away. This is what Jesus Christ accomplished on the cross when he died for the remission of our sins. And not just this, Heavenly Father, he endured the most brutal beatings and his body was broken so we can be healed in every respect. Through the Prophet Isaiah, in Isaiah 53:5(NLT), Your Word declares, “But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.”
Your Son took care of everything on the cross, but it is surprising how many people are not aware of what he accomplished for all of us, believers and unbelievers. Just recently, I was talking to a friend. During our conversation, he made the statement “I’m getting sick.” I asked, “Why do you think you’re sick? You sound fine.” He then said, “My body feels terrible!” I suggested that instead of claiming that he was sick, claim healing. I told him to say, “In the name of Jesus Christ, my sins have been cleansed by the shedding of his blood, and through his broken body and by his wounds, I am healed and there is no sickness in me at all.” To my surprise, he was confused by this. His spiritual maturity and faith is not yet where it needs to be to confess those words confidently. He asked me why he should say these words if he already feels sick. I replied, “It is the sick that Jesus heals! Feelings do not override the truth of what God says in His Word. Just because you may feel a certain way, it doesn’t mean you have to claim your feelings as your reality. You can choose to believe what God says and begin to speak words of healing for yourself through the Lord Jesus Christ; because God’s Word tells us that life and death are in the power of the tongue.”
Heavenly Father, Your word says by Jesus Christ stripes we are healed. Thank You, thank You, thank You for giving us Your Son and for everything that he accomplished on the cross. We can never say thank you enough for this gift. There is no way to count all the marvelous blessings that Jesus has secured for those who love You. Please, Father, open the eyes of Your people so they may claim for themselves the healing that Christ gives us. We can claim healing when we feel sick and receive it in the name of Jesus Christ because the Word says we can. When things look like they’re taking a turn for the worse, we can choose to believe and trust in Your Word and Will for our lives. Thank You for forgiving our sins. Thank You for the gift of the precious Holy Spirit, and thank You for all Your other bountiful blessings, in the powerful name of Jesus Christ we pray. Amen.
