Bringing Our Faith to Life!

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank You for the wonderful plan You have for our lives. Many people are confused today, and they feel that there is so much uncertainty in the world. We must have complete and total confidence that You are always in control. Even when it looks like things are falling apart, the sun still shines during the day and the moon and stars shine at night. You are the glue, and You hold everything together. You tell us in Romans 8:28 that ALL things work together for good for those that are called according to Your purpose. Through this verse, You give us tremendous confidence and comfort, and You also remind us that we have a purpose to fulfill within Your will. We have been called to get some things done in this earth, and the responsibility You have given us will keep our lives continually blessed.

Some of us are very unhappy. We feel dissatisfied with our lives. We feel that we don’t have enough money, we don’t have the relationship we desire, and nothing seems to go right for us. We are praying for You to fix these things, and You always answer our prayers. Sometimes, we don’t recognize the answer You are giving us. In James 2:26(NLT), You tell us, “Just as the body is dead without breath, so also faith is dead without good works.” This verse tells us that our faith has to be backed with something. We must do more than ask, we must ask with faith in You. This means we are confident that You hear us, and that You are willing and able to bless us.

We don’t want to have a dead faith, Heavenly Father. We must bring our faith to life, and the way to do this is to back it with good works. Ephesians 2:10(ESV), tells us, “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” This verse tells us that we are Your masterpieces. We were engineered according to Your magnificent design, but You didn’t create us to put us on a shelf. You created us to imitate Christ, to be like him and to get moving doing the things he did when he walked on this earth. Our prayers are answered many times in the form of Your instruction to do good.

You’ll give us a word or revelation to do something special for someone. Maybe we will have a dream or vision of someone that we can be a blessing to. We must understand that Your love must have expression through us, and this is the reality we must have faith in before we have faith in any other thing. We are made in the image of Christ and living by his example is the evidence of our faith. In this season of blessing, please help us to avoid the temptation of idolatry, greed, and all those things that do not please You. Just like Jesus Christ did, please show us how to give our blessings right back to You for Your glory.

Thank You for continuing to teach us through Your Holy Spirit, and for helping us understand that our lives belong to You and they are to be used for Your glory. Doing good works and being a blessing to others is an opportunity to receive a blessing. It is a chance to affirm that we are children of light, and that our first priority is to always please You. We pray that Your Will is done on earth as it is in heaven. Thank You for our precious and powerful Lord and Savior. Thank You for the extraordinary gift of Holy Spirit and thank You for all Your many blessings. In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray, Amen.
