Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank You for the wisdom of Your Word. It prepares us for the good times, and it also prepares us to weather the storms. Many believers are experiencing challenging times. Some say, “I know a huge blessing is coming my way because the devil is really testing me.” We’ve heard it said many times that when a blessing is about to be birthed, the enemy can smell it and will pull out all the stops to try to make us miss what You have in store. Heavenly Father, please don’t let us fall for those tricks. Help us to remain strong and vigilant through Your Holy Spirit, so that we prove Your perfect Will.
When the enemy pours it on thick, we need to cling to Your Word even tighter. In the Gospel of John 17, Jesus Christ was praying to You about those that had been with him, his disciples. They were about to face perhaps one of the most troubling times they’d ever experienced on earth. They had walked with Your Son. They fellowshipped with him and were personally taught by him. They saw the many miracles, signs, and wonders he performed. No doubt, they felt comforted in his presence, because they knew the protection and provision of Your power. The Master was going away, and they would face tough times. Jesus Christ didn’t pray that You would take them out of world or put them on an isolated island somewhere. He knew that cowering away in fear of what the devil might do is not the way of the Christian. Instead, in John 17:17(KJV), Jesus Christ prayed, “Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.”
Your Son wanted sanctification to be confirmed in the disciples, and this means that they would show themselves to have strong faith in You. It means that they would not be so focused on the blessings they hoped to receive but would be focused on You and all that You are. They would not be thrown off the path of Your purpose but would cling to Your Word and let it continually light the path they were to follow. Heavenly Father, we can do no less. In these times of trouble, we must be sanctified by Your truth. Trouble does not last always. Though the storm rages, You are with us. You will never leave or forsake us.
Glory to Your Holy Magnificent Name, for we will not miss what You have in store for us if we remain committed to honor Your Word. You have magnified Your Word above Your name. You are always faithful to keep Your promises, and Your Word will never fail or let us down. Thank You for helping us to be a blessing and to continue walking in faith. Thank You for what You’re doing in our lives and for the blessings You have in store for us. We give You all the glory and honor, for You alone are worthy.
We pray that Your Will is done on earth as it is in heaven. Thank You for our precious and powerful Lord and Savior. Thank You for the extraordinary gift of Holy Spirit and thank You for all Your many blessings. In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray, Amen.
