Dear Heavenly Father,
You are holy, holy, holy. There is no other like You, and You alone are worthy of all praise, glory, and honor. Thank You for being our Heavenly Father, and for blessing us the way You have. Thank You for the finished work of Jesus Christ, our precious Lord and Savior. Because of him, we can stand before You with no sense of guilt, sin, or condemnation. Romans 3:22(NLT) tells us, “We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who we are.” You sent Jesus Christ to the earth to become a human being. Through his life and example, You’ve shown us what You’ve created us to be. Your righteousness was on full display in the life of Christ, and because of his sacrifice, Your righteousness is on display through us.
Sometimes, our behavior doesn’t reflect this. Instead, we choose to let our actions, thoughts, and conversations be the opposite of Your righteousness. We show that we are going backward rather than forward in Godliness. When we behave like our old “unsaved” selves, we show that living by Your love and growing in Christ is the last thing on our minds. Jesus Christ proved that You didn’t make a mistake when You made us in Your likeness. We’ve all sinned and fallen short of Your glory, but because of Your grace, You have justified, qualified, and reconciled us to You through the redemptive work of Christ! You want our lives to look as though we understand what You’ve done through Your only begotten Son, that You have shaped and molded us using his life as a blueprint.
Many of us are not truly and deeply thankful for the accomplishment of Christ. We have our eyes on other blessings, and we are so consumed with those things, that we’re frustrated, dissatisfied, and disappointed in the faith. We are upset because the blessings we want most have not yet come into fruition. This shows that we haven’t made the connection that our born-again reality is cause for celebration every moment of every day. We will never see hell because of what You’ve done for us, and until we recognize this on a deep level, we are still walking around with our eyes closed.
Please help us to receive a greater revelation about our spiritual identity and destiny in Christ. Help us to see that our blessings are tied to our love and commitment to You through Christ. Proverbs 23:7(NKJV) says, “For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.” Whatever we focus on with our thoughts and feelings, that is what we become. This is why it is so important to focus on Jesus Christ and the example he left us to follow. The more we know about him, the more like him we become.
Yes, the process of spiritual growth and blessings is not determined by our timetable, and some of us are antsy and impatient because of this, but You cannot be rushed. You know the best way to bless us, and You know the best seasons in our lives for those blessings to manifest. Thank You for continuing to teach us to seek You first, and for showing us that this is the way to stay anchored in a blessed state.
Thank You for giving us Your righteousness. Thank You for our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Thank You for the powerful gift of the indwelling Holy Spirit and thank You for Your many blessings and for leading and guiding us through Your matchless Word. In the powerful name of Jesus Christ we pray. Amen.
