Dear Heavenly Father,
You are holy and righteous forever, and Your Word will never fail. Thank You for being so faithful to us, Your people, and for giving us Your Son, Jesus Christ, as a perfect sacrifice for the remission of our sins. We didn’t deserve all the wonderful blessings that You’ve given us through Jesus Christ. We could never have earned them. You tell us in Ephesians 1:3 that You have blessed us with all spiritual blessings in the heavenly realms because of our union with Christ. You made this possible! Thank You for this, Dear Father, and please help us to show You our gratitude by allowing You to work through us as we live in Christ.
Father, I am struck by the number of people that do not know how much they desperately need Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. They have not accepted his love in their hearts, and therefore, they don’t have the strength to make it from day to day. You tell us in 1Chronicles 16:11(ESV), “Seek the Lord and his strength; seek his presence continually!”, but many people will not do this, and because they won’t, the devil is tearing their lives apart.
When we accept Jesus Christ and make him the head of our lives, we make a commitment to follow his example. We commit to live in total surrender to You and Your Word. We are covered by the blood of Jesus Christ as we live in him. Ephesians 1:7(ESV) declares, “In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace.” You gave Your Son to die so that we would be redeemed from the curses of darkness. Through Christ, You sealed us with Your Holy Spirit of promise. You did this because You want every person’s eyes to be opened and enlightened to the hope they have in Christ, so they can be free from the power of satan.
You raised Jesus Christ from the dead. He did not stay in the grave. He got up with all power in his hands. You seated him at Your right hand, and he is far above all rule, authority, power, and dominion. Ephesians 1:22(ESV) declares that You “put all things under his feet and gave him as head over all things to the church.” Because of what You have done, we are victorious! We can live through the victory over sin that Christ has won for us!
Ephesians 2:8 tells us that we have been saved by Your grace and through our faith in You. We were once separated from You as well as our Big Brother, Jesus Christ, but now, we have been brought near to You by his blood. Words can never express how much gratitude we have for being able to come into Your presence without the stain of guilt, sin, or condemnation. Through Christ, You have given every born again believer Your righteousness.
Jesus Christ told his disciples in John 15:16(NLT), “You didn’t choose me. I chose you. I appointed you to go and produce lasting fruit, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask for, using my name.” This is enough to build anyone’s self-esteem. You are the Creator of the entire universe, and You chose us to be Your very own. This is just mind-blowing, Father! Thank You, thank You, thank You, for the finished work of Jesus Christ! You are magnificent beyond magnificence, and it is an honor to be Your children. Thank you for choosing us and covering us by the blood of Jesus Christ. In his precious and powerful name we pray, Amen.■
