Dear Heavenly Father,
You are holy, holy, holy, and there is none that can compare to Your omnipotence, honor, and glory! Thank You for loving us so intensely. Your love for us is so overwhelming that You spared not Your only begotten Son to save us from the curse of sin and death. Through His sacrifice, You have redeemed us and made us Your own special people. We are Your children, and we get to bask in Your love, righteousness, and peace every moment of each day.
Please forgive me for all the things I’ve done wrong. Sometimes, I’m well aware that I’m having thoughts, feelings, and attitudes that do not please You, but I engage these things anyway. I do the very thing You have told us not to do in Your Word. I am sorry, Father. Please help me to be better according to the standard of Jesus Christ. I ask Your forgiveness as I forgive the people that have done things against me as well.
Father, we are living in a time like no other. These are trying times, but we must not be mistaken by all that is happening and think that You will forsake us. You didn’t bring us this far through Jesus Christ to leave us. You encourage us in 1Peter 1:6(NLT), “So be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you must endure many trials for a little while.” Your promises and prophecies will come to pass. Many believers are allowing their faith to be rocked by what they see going on in the earth. These things should not be surprising to us, because You’ve told us about them in Your Word. You’ve warned us to remain anchored in Christ so that we stay under the arc of Your safety.
Romans 8:19(ESV), tells us, “For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the sons of God.” All of creation is waiting in anticipation for when You will reveal Your children in all the glory of our resurrected bodies. This is will be a day of glory for sure. You tell us in 1Corinthians 2:9(NLT), “But as it is written: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.”” You have very good things planned for Your children! But we must not be mistaken, Your judgment will go forth in the earth on all those that have refused to live according to Your love.
This is a time for us to rise up in faith as children of Your Kingdom and to cling to Your promises. Joy is in us through Christ, and joy is ahead of us in what You have planned. We must keep our hearts and minds on heavenly things and not on the things of this world. You will continue to protect and keep us safe, because Psalm 1:6(NLT) tells us, “For the LORD watches over the path of the godly, but the path of the wicked leads to destruction.”
2Timothy 1:7(NLT) declares that You have not given us a spirit of fear. You’ve given us a spirit of power, love, and self-control. Whenever we are having feelings outside of what You have given us, we know that the enemy is trying to trick us into forfeiting our stand as Your sons and daughters. We must resist this. You tell us in 2Corinthians 10:5 to demolish arguments and vain imaginations that come against knowledge of Your love, power, and Word. We are to hold these wayward thoughts and vain imaginations captive and make them obedient to the mind of Christ. Our number one objective in life is to be obedient to You, and we must submit our thoughts and emotions to Your holiness.
This is what it means to cling to You. When we feel ourselves getting weary and swaying in our faith, clinging to You is what we must do. You command us in 1John 3:7-9(NLT), “7 Dear children, don’t let anyone deceive you about this: When people do what is right, it shows that they are righteous, even as Christ is righteous. 8 But when people keep on sinning, it shows that they belong to the devil, who has been sinning since the beginning. But the Son of God came to destroy the works of the devil. 9 Those who have been born into God’s family do not make a practice of sinning, because God’s life is in them.” Through Christ, You’ve made us partakers of Your divine inheritance. Our future is golden no matter what happens. If we look to the left, You are there. If we look to the right, front, or back, You are there too. You’ve got us in Your hands, and that is where we should do everything within our power to remain.■
