Dear Heavenly Father,
You tell us in Hebrews 4:12-13 (MSG), “God means what he says. What he says goes. His powerful Word is sharp as a surgeon’s scalpel, cutting through everything, whether doubt or defense, laying us open to listen and obey. Nothing and no one is impervious to God’s Word. We can’t get away from it—no matter what.” Your Word is a light for our feet. Your Word gives us Your standard. It tells us how we should live life and what we should be doing every moment of each day. Your Word is true, and it is life to us. For so long You’ve been patient as we’ve tried to do our own thing and not listen to Your instructions and follow Your guidance. You’ve waited on us to get it together. The grace and mercy You have poured out on every living person cannot be measured, but we are entering a new chapter in our faith, and our stand on Your Word must be firm and unwavering.
Your Son, Jesus Christ, told us in Revelation 3:2 that we must wake up! Now is the time for us to open our eyes and strengthen ourselves in You. Things are happening in the world at a rapid pace, but we must not be moved by what our eyes see. You are our Sufficiency, and You have the last word. As believers and ambassadors of Christ, You want us to be like trees that are planted by the waters. Our roots must grow down deep into Christ, so that when the heat comes, our leaves will still be green. When the drought comes, we will be consistently nourished because our roots are in Christ. If we will position ourselves to grow closer to You through the Lord Jesus Christ, Jeremiah 17:8 tells us that no matter the conditions, we will be like a tree that never stops producing fruit.
We are Your people, and You’ve told us in Romans 12:2 not to be conformed to the world. We are to be different from those who haven’t yet given their lives to You. We can’t be slaves to fear because of the chaos and confusion that is going on around us. You’ve given us everything we need to walk in the Spirit, to be strong, and to continue to press and run the race You’ve placed before us. Thank You for helping us to remember who we are and whose we are. We are Your sons and daughters through Christ. We belong to You and You belong to us. Thank You for loving us with an everlasting love, and for the grace and mercy You continue to show us. Thank You for our Blessed Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ, and thank You for the Holy Spirit. Let Your Will be done on earth as it is in heaven. In the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
