Setting Our Minds on God’s Peace

Dear Heavenly Father,

You tell us in 2Corinthians 4:4(NT), “Satan, who is the god of this world, has blinded the minds of those who don’t believe. They are unable to see the glorious light of the Good News. They don’t understand this message about the glory of Christ, who is the exact likeness of God.” Now, perhaps more than any other time in our lives, we are witnessing this verse in real time. This world is totally blindsided by the devil’s tactics. They don’t know which problem to tackle first because there are so many of them. Evil and corruption is in just about every institution, and it is being exposed at an accelerated rate. People are so caught up with what is going on that many of them haven’t forgotten who You are, and why You have placed us on this earth.

As the enemy uses chaos to distract people, it is our responsibility as believers to stand on the truth of Your Word, because Your Word hasn’t changed and neither have You. We must be careful not to add to the enemy’s attempts to shift attention away from You and Your goodness. We should never forget the Words of our Lord and Savior in John 14:27 (ESV). He said, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.”

Dear Father, please remind Your people to get into their quiet places and tune in to Your voice, and Your voice alone. Please teach us and show us how to usher in Your peace in a greater way. Please remind us to renew our minds to Your Word, so that You can transform us into the people You desire us to be. Let us not be lovers of turmoil and chaos, but we must remember Your peace which passes all understanding; for Jesus Christ said in Matthew 5:9(ESV), “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.”

In Romans 8:6(ESV), through the Apostle Paul, You said, “For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace.” We are not children of darkness and death, but children of light. You have commanded us to walk by the Spirit and to set our minds and hearts solely on what the Spirit is doing. We should not lean on our own understanding, because we don’t know what You know, and we don’t see what You see. The Spirit is giving us the life and peace of Christ, and he will lead and direct us to Your purpose.

Father, thank You for sending Your peace to heal the land, and for delivering Your Word in a way that will make people wake up and change the error of their ways. Please, help them to cling to You, because only You can make crooked paths straight.

Please forgive us for our sins, Father, and help those who do not know You. Please send a believer across their paths to tell them the Good News of Jesus Christ; that through him, You will save their souls. Thank You for our precious and powerful Lord and Savior. Thank You for the extraordinary gift of Holy Spirit and thank You for all Your many blessings. In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray, Amen.
