Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank You for giving us such tremendous wisdom through Your Word, and for also giving us revelation and prophecy that comes through Your precious Holy Spirit. Your wisdom gives us guidance and direction. It helps us to discern what is right for our lives.
Recently in my prayer life, I’ve been focusing on receiving, recognizing, and understanding Your guidance in a certain area of my life. One of the reasons it is very important that we pray about receiving Your guidance is because sometimes we have fear and doubt, and this blocks us from seeing what we need to see. When we have fear and doubt in our hearts, it will keep us from progressing towards the thing we desire most.
We can find ourselves wanting a particular blessing so badly that we just don’t know what to do with ourselves. We become anxious, thinking that You might take too long or that You will not answer our prayers in the way we expect. Many of us try to force things to happen. We allow the wrong person into our lives, we speak the wrong things when we should keep our mouths shut, and we try to compel people and situations to cooperate with our plans when You have not sanctioned these things. Getting ahead of Your guidance and wisdom instead of resting in Your peace will take us out of the faith of Jesus Christ. This does not please You. Heavenly Father, please help us realize that You do not need to be reminded of what we need. Your Son, Jesus Christ, said in Matthew 6:8(NLT), “Your Father knows exactly what you need even before you ask him!”
When we’re on the fence, not fully trusting in You, the enemy will try to create an even bigger wedge between us and our blessings by undermining our faith even further. James 4:7 tells us to humble ourselves before You and resist the devil. Instead of going further into doubt, we should become even more revved up in our conviction to have faith in You. We should see through what the enemy is trying to do and recognize that what we’ve prayed to receive is on the way.
As followers of Jesus Christ, we must take a stand against the devil’s plot. Proverbs 18:21 tells us that death and life are in the power of the tongue. We can use our confessions to rebuke any plot and plan of the enemy and affirm Your promises and goodness. We must claim victory and stand in faith instead of sinking in fear and doubt. Please help us to be anchored in faith and to be confident that You cannot fail. You have all power in Your hands and You will give us the desires of our hearts in Your perfect timing. We must never give in to the sin of fear and doubt because they are a free ticket for the devil to mess things up. We must not give the enemy a free pass into our lives.
Thank You for strengthening us and giving us insight and direction to live according to Your Will and Plan. Thank You for showing us where we have fear and doubt in our hearts and minds, so that we can renew our minds to Your Word and get ourselves on the path to Your blessings. Thank You for giving Your Son, Jesus Christ, as a sacrifice for our sins. Thank You for giving us the gift of Holy Spirit. We pray all these things in the powerful name of Jesus Christ. Amen.■
