God Will Give Us What We Need

God will give us what we need. This truth is one of the building blocks to establishing faith. It is impossible for our Heavenly Father to miss a beat. He knows us through and through. He knows how to bless us, and He knows what we need. If we have any doubts about this, those doubts must be exposed and kicked out of our minds and hearts. If we hold on to them, they will continue to block us from what we desire most.

1Corinthians 14:33 tells us that God is not the author of confusion. He is a God of order! In other words, there’s an order to everything that God does. He doesn’t allow us to skip the line and pass over the order that He has set for our lives. What this means for us is that we have to pause, hit the reset button, and take the time to understand and comprehend God’s order, because we are required to follow it.

To understand any information that we are given, our minds go through a process. They take in or digest the information. And then, we tell the mind how to categorize this information. We tell the mind to either store the information for permanent use, to discard it in the ‘do not believe’ pile, or to put it in the store house for ‘need more information to fully understand’. Wherever we tell the mind to put the information we receive from God’s Word will decide whether we are increasing our faith in God or decreasing it.

After we tell the mind where to put the information, the mind then waits on our actions, because our actions tell the true story about whether we believe the information we have received. If our actions reinforce our decision to believe the information we have received, this information drops down into our hearts, and there it becomes a part of us.

God commands us in 2Corinthians 13:5(NLT) to “Examine yourselves to see if your faith is genuine. Test yourselves.” To examine and test ourselves is to look at our actions and determine if they measure up to what we believe about the Lord Jesus Christ and about what God has said in His Word. Sometimes, our actions fall short. They do not accurately reflect that we believe what God says to the point where information from His Word was stored for permanent use. In many cases, our actions reflect that we have stored His Word in the ‘do not believe’ pile. This is why we are not advancing in our desires.

Hebrews 11:6(NLT) tells us, “And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.” It’s important for us to remember that our whole purpose for being on this earth is to love God and to increase the intimacy in our relationship with Him. We do this through faith. We do it through believing and trusting what God has said and by sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ with others. God requires us to be totally sold-out on His love, and the way we show this is by obeying His Word.

Some of us have been praying to meet the man God has ordained that we should walk with through life. We have faith that marriage is a blessing from God, but we do not have faith that God will take care of all the details, and that He will tell us when we’ve actually met this man. Many of us meet men we find intriguing and attractive. Without the kind of prayer and processing necessary to please God, we place this guy in the “possible prospect” category. We allow him all the benefits that only the man that is “The One” should enjoy. We’ve done this so many times that the pattern is in our hearts. And there, it is prompting us to act in ways that are opposite of the truth we should have believed. We are sabotaging ourselves but won’t admit it.

Jesus Christ said in Matthew 6:8(NLT), “for your Father knows exactly what you need even before you ask him!” The Father knows your desire for partnership and has heard all your prayers for this blessing. It’s not our job to steer ourselves in the direction of the man, it’s our job to allow God to direct our steps according to His Word. He will make all the presentations, and He requires that we are spiritually prepared and that we understand the importance of always and forever putting our relationship with Him in the number one spot. When we are at this level of spiritual preparation, God will position us in the right place at the right time to receive all that He wants to give us.■
